Q.i

I designed the set for QI when the show launched on the BBC in 2003, working with its creator John Lloyd. The brief was a panel show that looked like nothing else on television.

Inspiration for the design was The Rosetta Stone, The Dead Sea Scrolls, Egyptian Hieroglyphics and The Golden Section, which was used elsewhere on the set.

It's the set I'm asked about more than any other. The design is simple, but it works so well in the context of the show, and it has stayed essentially the same for over twenty years. QI is recorded at BBC TV Centre.
