Sinterklaas Is Coming To Town

Episode 2

The Old Man & The Tree

Episode 3

The Old Man & The Tree was a great episode to design.

From the start, the way the script was written, meant that we had to create a believable decoy house that linked to a millionaires mansion in London.

In the end, we found the most perfect decoy house and an even more perfect mansion (both seperated by about 30 miles), but each one fitted the bill.

So I ended up designing a small set build that matched the decoy house, within the mansion, and we used that as our link between the two.

The next big thing was creating a realistic large old tree within the grounds of the mansion, that over-looked a private Nandos restaurant built into the house.

This had to be cut down with a chainsaw, so we inserted real wooden elements into a fibreglass tree build.

Lots of fun, lots of chicken, and a superb team effort.

Season 3 “Cancer Attack”

Cancer Attack was shot mostly in London.

We couldn’t find the perfect venue that felt like an interesting music venue in Budapest, so I designed and built a set into Alexandra Palace, using part of the original walls as inspiration for the look of the venue set build. This included the Green Room, corridors and Folks office.

Season 3 “Tarrare”

Tarrare was shot entirely on location in Paris.

This was quite a challenge during May of 2021 with all the Covid restrictions and lockdowns.

Highlights were building a Metro subway entrance in a high-rise estate, Van’s apartment, and creating edible ‘hands’ for the dinner scene. One of my favourite epsiosdes, masterfully directed by Donald Glover
