Green Wing
Production Design
Jonathan Paul Green was Production Designer on Green Wing, the award-winning Channel 4 comedy series set within the surreal world of East Hampton Hospital.
The production design created a distinctive hospital environment that could accommodate the series’ unconventional visual style and increasingly surreal comedy. Practical locations and designed interiors provided the backdrop for the wards, offices, corridors and staff spaces in which the characters’ chaotic lives unfolded.
The design deliberately balanced the recognisable reality of a working hospital with the heightened, sometimes absurd world of the series, giving the production a strong visual identity while allowing the performances and unusual shooting style to remain at the centre of Channel 4’s award winning comedy.
