Defending The Guilty

Jonathan Paul Green was Production Designer on Defending the Guilty, the BBC comedy starring Will Sharpe and Katherine Parkinson, set within the world of criminal barristers and the British legal system.

The production design created a believable working world of chambers, courtrooms and legal offices while providing a strong backdrop for the series’ character-driven comedy. Locations and designed interiors needed to feel authentic without becoming overly formal or distracting from the performances.

The visual approach balanced the traditional architecture and atmosphere associated with the legal profession with the more contemporary, chaotic lives of the characters, helping establish a distinctive world in which the professional and personal sides of the story could comfortably coexist.
