The Wrong Mans
Production Design
Jonathan Paul Green was Production Designer on The Wrong Mans, the BBC and Hulu comedy thriller starring James Corden and Mathew Baynton.
The production design combined the everyday world of its two unlikely heroes with the increasingly cinematic environments they encounter as they are drawn into a dangerous criminal conspiracy. Locations and designed interiors needed to support both the comedy and the scale of the action, while maintaining a believable visual world throughout.
This involved extensive research into real Council planning offices, and militray planning for the bridge stunt involving the main cast jumping off a bridge without stunt doubles or wires, and what appears to be a landing in a moving open coal train truck.
The design played with the contrast between ordinary British life and the heightened world of crime, espionage and action thriller conventions, helping the series move naturally between character comedy and larger, more ambitious set pieces.
