Top Gear
The Clarkson Years
BBC
2006-2015
The Top Gear studio set at Dunsfold Airfield, redesigned by Jonathan Paul Green in 2006 and used throughout the Clarkson years until 2015.
Working with director Brian Klein and executive producer Andy Wilman, I wanted to create something like a museum of Top Gear history, with the grit and grunge of a high-octane car show, while leaving room for a huge standing audience.
I designed a series of vehicles on ramps that would be visible above the crowd, painted the vast hangar door, and built an area inspired by Airfix model kits. The Cool Wall already existed as a simple board, so I redesigned it with different branding for each section. I continued to design the show for nine years, along with many of its location builds.
